Lynn's Comments: Around this time, I started to work with the Downtown Improvement Association to try and encourage shoppers to come back into the downtown and support the small, family businesses. We tried all kinds of things—from art contests to scavenger hunts, but sadly, the malls were too big a draw.

Lynn's Comments: This happened. I had given Farley a bath and he was outdoors drying off when I saw him chewing happily on something delicious. He was having such a good time that I had to go and see what it was. Yup, it was a dead and very ripe toad. His breath smelled like toad for hours.

Lynn's Comments: The school here is named for “R. Peter Boire” —the principal of one of our local high schools many years ago. Intelligent, honest, hardworking, and a wonderfully reliable volunteer, Peter was one of my favourite people.
